Cook Applauds Funding for Rices Landing Borough

January 28, 2025

WAYNESBURG – Rep. Bud Cook (R-Washington/Greene) applauded the awarding of a $250,000 grant to Rices Landing Borough through the Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program (GTRP) for improving a playground at Pumpkin Run Park.

The project is phase one of a larger effort to expand the recreational use of the park and will focus on replacing the existing damaged playground. This project will include the installation of new swings, a playground set, rubber edging and 250 square yards of rubber play surface.

“Our children deserve the most up to date playground equipment on which to play and grow,” said Cook. “I am grateful to see this funding come to Greene County and invested into our youth.”

This project is part of the Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program (GTRP), which is funded by Act 13 of 2012 and aims to improve parks, trails and recreational spaces across Pennsylvania.
